He played bass with post-punk revivalists Rips, recording\u003cbr\u003e\nand touring their debut album with Austin Brown (Parquet Courts), forming Dark\u003cbr\u003e\nTea in 2016. Fire Talk, a label known for left-field rockers like Pure X and Dehd,\u003cbr\u003e\nissued the first Dark Tea LP in 2019, mixed by Jarvis Taveniere of Woods and\u003cbr\u003e\nfeaturing memorable guitar work from Meg Duffy of Hand Habits.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe new Dark Tea album, recorded by Matt\u003cbr\u003e\nBarrick (The Walkmen) and NYC punk veteran Sasha Stroud, is a document of\u003cbr\u003e\ndeeply personal, interior reflections, contrasted with the wide open spaces of\u003cbr\u003e\nan idyllic American soundscape. Beyond the music, Gary channels his Cassavetes\u003cbr\u003e\nobsession by making videos for Dark Tea, Current Joys, and The Berries.
