daymoon-cd
Daymoon [CD]

Strange Ranger (fka Sioux Falls) is an Indie-Rock / Post-Punk band from Montana, now based out of Portland, Oregon. Formed by Isaac Eiger and Fred Nixon and solidified by the duo’s mutual love of early Mod- est Mouse, the band’s breakthrough debut full-length, the sprawling Rot Forever, was named one of Consequence of Sound’s ‘Top 50 Albums of 2016.’ Later that year, the follow-up EP, Sunbeams Through Your Head, was cited as one of Stereogum’s “Great EPs from 2016” and lead to Strange Ranger’s inclu- sion in the publications list of “Best New Bands.” O ver the course of last Winter, Strange Ranger recorded its sophomore full-length, Daymoon. Naturally evolving from the expansiveness of Rot Forever in favor of a smarter and more focused approach, the album transmits as something uniquely hushed and organic. While previous material felt more like a band exploring numerous diverse avenues, Daymoon pulls back and showcases heightened attention to detail. Still, the honest, heart-on-sleeve songwriting remains, even if the band has chosen subtler paths to deliver its message. Daymoon is a tasteful and nuanced evolution for Strange Ranger - one that will undoubtedly serve as a bridge to the band’s con- tinuing and singular evolution.

Artist: Strange Ranger

Label: Tiny Engines

Format: CD

Format detail: CD digipak

Release date: 2017-10-06

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0563/8085/0374/files/201374710296_87e169e8-a801-47c3-905a-54027ca10612.jpg?v=1793375326
