At Paladin Vinyl, we live for releases that mean something—that elevate a collection beyond just a stack of records and turn it into something truly special. And today, we’re bringing you two stunning, limited-edition exclusive soundtrack releases that are nothing short of essential. These are the kinds of records you put on and get completely lost in. The ones that tell stories without a single spoken word. The ones that make you remember exactly why you love vinyl in the first place.
Both of these releases—Edward Scissorhands and The Thing—are films defined by their scores. Danny Elfman’s Edward Scissorhands soundtrack is a sweeping, emotional fairytale. It’s the sound of heartbreak, of longing, of something strange and beautiful trying to find its place in the world. And then there’s The Thing, composed by the legendary Ennio Morricone. Cold. Minimal. Unrelenting. A score that creeps in slowly and never lets go.
These aren’t just records. They’re experiences. And they’re exclusive to Paladin Vinyl.
Edward Scissorhands OST – Midnight Sculptor (Paladin Vinyl Exclusive)
There are certain movie scores that don’t just complement their films—they define them. Danny Elfman’s Edward Scissorhands soundtrack is one of those. The way it builds and swirls, shifting between delicate, dreamlike melodies and grand, sweeping orchestrations, it tells you everything you need to know about Edward’s world before he ever speaks a word.
Elfman has said this score is one of his personal favorites, and it’s easy to hear why. It’s inspired by Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, giving it a timeless, fairytale-like quality. But it’s also deeply sad, filled with that kind of bittersweet beauty that sticks with you long after the music fades.
For this exclusive edition, we wanted a vinyl variant that captured the essence of the film—its wonder, its melancholy, its sense of magic. The Midnight Sculptor pressing does exactly that.

Did You Know?
Elfman composed much of this score in isolation, using a home studio setup that allowed him to experiment freely without studio interference. That sense of solitude is woven into the music, making it one of the most personal scores he’s ever written.
This is a pressing you won’t want to miss. Pre-orders are live now, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.
The Thing OST – Assimilation Blaze (Paladin Vinyl Exclusive)
Few horror soundtracks have the kind of lasting impact that The Thing does. When John Carpenter handed scoring duties over to Ennio Morricone, people expected something massive—Morricone was known for his sweeping, orchestral compositions, the kind that filled western landscapes with epic grandeur. Instead, he delivered something completely different.
The score for The Thing is unsettling in its minimalism. A slow, pulsing synth line. A sense of dread creeping in with every note. It’s nothing like Morricone’s usual style, yet it fits Carpenter’s film so well that many assumed Carpenter had written it himself.
At the time of its release, The Thing was misunderstood. Critics slammed both the film and its soundtrack, even nominating it for a Razzie Award for Worst Musical Score. But over time, its reputation changed. Now, it’s regarded as one of the greatest horror soundtracks ever recorded, influencing composers for decades.
Our exclusive Assimilation Blaze variant captures the tension, the paranoia, the slow burn of this film’s horror.
What makes this release special?

Did You Know?
Carpenter and Morricone barely spoke during the scoring process. Carpenter gave Morricone a rough idea of what he wanted, and Morricone delivered a mix of orchestral and electronic compositions. Carpenter then went through them, picking the pieces that best fit his vision.
This is one of those soundtracks that doesn’t just accompany a film—it becomes the film. If you’re a collector, a horror fan, or just someone who loves vinyl done right, this is an absolute must-have.
These Won’t Last Long
Exclusive releases like these don’t sit around forever. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. Whether you’re drawn to the whimsical, gothic beauty of Edward Scissorhands or the cold, creeping dread of The Thing, these pressings belong in your collection.
