Formado en Birmingham en 1976, el cuarteto de punk inglés Suburban Studs se ganó su reputación a través de sus temibles primeros conciertos en vivo, como teloneros de los Pistols y los Clash en el 100 Club, y con la devolución del favor por parte de los Clash en un concierto que los Studs encabezaron en su ciudad natal; más tarde fueron teloneros de AC/DC y Judas Priest, entre muchos otros. Tras fichar por el sello independiente Pogo en 1977, su álbum debut Slam contenía 16 temas originales y una versión a doble tiempo de "My Generation" de los Who; esta edición incluye cuatro temas extra extraídos de su segundo álbum inacabado y en proceso, que nunca se publicó. Un imprescindible para todos los fans del punk original.
