About Black Metal

Black metal developed from the heavier and more extreme edges of metal, combining aggressive guitar work, distinctive vocal styles and an often deliberately stark production aesthetic. Over time, the genre expanded considerably beyond its earliest sound.

The catalog now includes traditional and second-wave black metal alongside atmospheric, melodic, symphonic, progressive and experimental approaches. Some releases stay close to the genre's raw foundations, while others incorporate folk, ambient, doom, death metal or avant-garde influences.

Collecting Black Metal
