Este joven cuarteto de pop-punk podría parecer que sigue los pasos de bandas como Blink 182, pero en ALL KILLER NO FILLER aportan algo propio. Aunque gran parte de este álbum está ocupado por un punk melódico post-Green Day maleducado con algún que otro guiño reverencial al punk rock de la vieja escuela ("Nothing on My Back"), Sum 41 parece lo suficientemente consciente de sí mismo como para burlarse de sí mismo de manera efectiva. "Maiden y Priest eran los dioses que alabamos", proclaman con orgullo en la satírica "Fat Lip", en la que también coquetean con el rap-metal. Mientras tanto, la pegadiza "Rhythms" tiene suficientes ganchos de guitarra y armonías vocales melódicas para complacer a cualquier fan del power-pop.
