Ed Schrader's Music Beat es una banda de post-punk con base en Baltimore formada por Ed Schrader y Devlin Rice. En Riddles, su primer lanzamiento para Carpark, Music Beat comienza su nueva vida. En busca de una nueva dirección, ESMB invitó a su gran amigo, el maestro del pop electrónico Dan Deacon, a expandir su sonido y experimentar con ellos como productor, arreglista y coautor del álbum. Trabajando de manera constante en el estudio de Dan durante dos años en total colaboración, tres músicos en evolución superaron un intenso período de tumulto personal y encontraron un propósito en los sonidos que se comprometían a grabar.
