Un riff clásico y áspero abre "Mean Street", y Eddie Van Halen y David Lee Roth se ponen en marcha. "Sinner's Swing" es una versión hard rock del sonido de las grandes bandas, en la que Roth captura con éxito la onda de la era del swing. "Unchained" contiene los riffs hiperactivos y los solos majestuosos de Eddie, mientras que "When Push Comes To Shove" presenta una línea de bajo funky de Michael Anthony y un rap sinuoso de Roth.
